| The first public school building at Prospect was built on five acres of land on the corner of the Great Western Highway and Blacktown Road in 1871. A teachers residence was built near by of four rooms with no kitchen or bathroom. An additional room with a verandah was added to the cottage in 1879, and a weather shelter was added to the school hall in 1881. |  |
